Legion Continues it's current course
Most of you are aware by now that Nate (Amanzuul) has stepped down as Guild Leader so that he can immerse himself in the ways of the Force.
I think I speak for all of the Officers in saying that Nate will be missed and that we hope he tears himself away from fighting the dark side every so often to stop in and say 'hey' to us.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to emphasize that nothing is changing with the change in leadership.
For the last several years this guild has been managed on a day to day basis by the Officers, and that will continue.

Blizzard Guild Announcement
Greetings Legion,
No doubt some of you have probably seen the new announcement from Blizzard allowing GM's to transfer their guild to a new faction and/or realm potentially leaving everyone in the guild in a level 1 no achievements guild. To be honest I think this has a horrible potential consequence where less than desirable or shady GM's could destroy a community guild and or servers.
I want all of you to know, Legion will be a Shandris Alliance guild as long as I am the GM and I know all of the Senior Officers feel the same way. So Legionnaires do not need to worry about their guild going missing suddenly, it is not one person that makes Legion special, it's the members.
For we are not just another guild......

Raid Groups
As of today Legion has four 10 man raid groups running with some regularity. Moonsinore's and Mindfreac's groups are fairly well established and run with the same folks week to week. The PAK raid group is starting to get more and more solid with time and is nearing the stability of Moon's and Mind's groups. Samii is leading the Talon raid group and they are starting to build some synergy with a core of 6-8 members.
All of the various groups need back-ups. Yours truly signs up as a back-up to all of the groups when I know I can raid and I make sure I am ready to go. For new members coming in who want to raid, this is the best way to get connected to a group.
Another way is to start forming your own group. The forums here is a great place to do this and should start here. If you find the people and the raid times, plan it and schedule it. If you are trying to form a group and are missing a couple roles, the forum here is your first stop to find people, otherwise, talk with me (Amanzuul) and we can see if we can recruit some folks to help fill out your group.
Don't wait for an officer to form a group, it is our members who make it happen. ANY level of Legionnaire can start a raid group. I do ask that raid leaders not poach from other groups and I ask our members to uphold their commitment to groups they are established members of so groups are not left without a spot filled.
Good Luck.

A Friendly Reminder to Legion Members
We have a lot of new faces and every once in a while this requires repeating related to our rules when it comes to behavior.
All should remember they are wearing the Legion tag and anyone who looks you up with /who when you say something will see you are in Legion. Keep that in mind as you chat in trade, the zone, the world you are in. Legion has relatively moderate standards when it comes to our public behavior, this includes chat and groups you might be involved in. In vent it is not uncommon to let a word slip here or there but typing it takes more time and is NOT spontaneous so keep that in mind when you want to rage quit or respond poorly in trade chat, if it gets back to me or one of the other officers, you will be warned once, the second time you will be removed. If this is done to fellow Legion members you may be gone immediately as I feel when you join Legion you join a family.
I and the other officers of Legion require a certain level of docorum and civility between our members and the other players we play with in WoW, so keep that in mind as a member of Legion. Also, abbreviating your words won't save you.

Congratulations to Moonsinore's group for downing Ragnaros! They missed the server Alliance first by 10 minutes!

Accepting donations
Some of you may have noticed the DONATE button that showed up on the left a while back. Currently this web site and our vent server have been paid for by Nate (Amanzuul) with his own money. The Officers don't feel that Nate should have to shoulder this burden alone.
So we set up a Paypal account to accept donations to hopefully cover the real expenses of running this guild. I (Kurly) have set up a bank account linked to this paypal account.
Once a month or so I'll post in the guild forums what the balance is.
Donations are not required for guild membership and we will never pressure anyone to donate, but if you would like to help defray the costs, a method is now available.

Creating your website account
When you register your account on the site please use the toon name of your main. If we can't figure out who you are we will not approve your account. Here is the sequence you should be using (for prospective members): - Fill out an application (see menu option far upper right hand corner)*
- The members will review and may comment on your application. We will then approve or deny your application. You will get notified at the email address you provided
- If your application has been approved, contact any Legion member in game and ask them to put you in contact with an Officer for an invitation
- AFTER you have joined Legion in game, come back here to the web site and request an account using the toon name you joined Legion with. As soon as we can confirm the account, it will be approved
For existing Legion members who do not currently have a web site account, just do step #4

Firelands are Here!!!
Howdy folks, well the 4.2 patch has hit and everyone is scrambling to get those new purples to make their toons look.....well......epic. I spent a little time getting my warlock Lanfear through the early quests, now it looks like a grind.
Watching the progression board here on the website it looks like our raid groups are moving through the content again, 2 bosses down so far, keep it up and have fun.
I think we have 3 raid groups going right now and I thought I saw someone getting a fourth going, that is great, more folks involved is always fun.
Well I have been traveling a bunch and summer is here so I know I have been a ghost lately, it probably won't change much in the near future with summer here but I am hopeful I can pop in from time to time.
Some of you may have noticed I promoted some of our officers to Senior officer and primarily to keep things going when I can't be around. They basically can do all the same stuff I can as GM and this works well because Legion has always been run by more committee and we Legion members couldn't ask for a better group of folks.
Take care.

Lots of New Folks
As I am sure many of you have noticed, we have a lot of new folks who have joined Legion and I want to welcome all of you to Legion. I know a big draw has been Legion's raiding reputation but that is really a small part of what Legion is. I hope all of the newcomers will feel welcome and can fit in to Legion. I know raiding is a big part for our applicants but I want to stress it is the members that make it happen. We currently have one fixed 10 man raid group and it is just that, fixed. You may or may not be asked to fill in or try out for that raid group, led by Irismoon/Moonsinore, but they will ASK YOU if they are looking for someone. We have two other groups that have a core of 4 or 5 folks but in Legion family and real life come first so there may be openings on raid nights, sign up and sign on before the raid and if they are missing someone they may come to ask you. Also, as you make friends in Legion, feel free to start coordinating your own group, but folks should be sensitive if they commit to one of the others.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Legion.
For we are not just another guild......

Legion Downs Regular Cataclysm Content
Last night the progression raid group downed Nefarion thus earning Glory to the Cataclysm Raider, not only for themselves but for Legion as a whole. Congratz to the team on their achievement and we all wish you continued success as you start to work on some heroics. The team was also the first Alliance group to down Nefarian on our server.
As a reward for Legion, this team unlocked the Standard of Unity and the phoenix mount available for those who are exalted with Legion.
Congratulations and keep it up.
